SpectorDance is a comprehensive dance organization: a school, a dance company, and a venue.
SpectorDance has been a non profit organization since 1997. We opened our state of the art venue in 2002.
The SpectorDance School offers quality dance training in for all ages and levels of experience. SpectorDance students have been accepted to prestigious professional training programs such as Julliard, San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Boston Ballet.
The SpectorDance Company performs innovative collaborative projects that blend dance with music, spoken word and film. Themes aim to inform audiences about local issues with global significance. Examples include Ocean, a collaboration with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute about the ocean and climate change, and East/West, a collaboration with Rancho Cielo, about gang violence (currently in process).
SpectorDance hosts the Monterey Bay Choreographers Showcase, a bi-annual event showcasing new dance choreographed by invited guest artists.
